I WANNA BE A ROCKSTAR! ($20)

Janice Delp - Do your dolls live on the edge? Prefer leather over lace? Join us in making your doll become a Rockstar!

In this hands-on class you will learn techniques for tattooing your dolls and doing body piercings! All supplies will be provided in your kit except your doll of course! You can bring any type of dolls to tattoo, but depending on the locations and type of body piercing, we may not be able to pierce your doll in class if it's a hard-faced doll (like FR/Tonner etc.)
You'll learn several techniques for body piercing from easy (applying "studs"...which can be done anywhere on any doll) to a bit more complicated (actually poking holes in your doll which we can't do in the class to the hard dolls). I would recommend for the piercing section of the class that you bring a soft doll like a Barbie or Ken so you can try everything! No real artistic skills are required for this class so come on in and learn something fun!

CIAO ITALIA! SEMINAR ($10)

In a special Italian event, experience and enjoy the new creations from Mario and Gianni, Magia 2000, from Italy. A wonderful event enjoying tasteful wine, and some parmesan cheese, and more Limoncello! Of course, there will be tons of beautiful couture dolls of all kinds with Magia's elegant style. Don't miss out on spending a funny afternoon with our longtime friends, Mario and Gianni

Thursday, July 8, 2010 - 9:00am - 10:30am

PURSES FOR YOUR DOLLS PART II ($20)

Durelle Brown - Back by popular request I will be doing part II of Purses for dolls. This workshop will take a different approach and go back in time to create the very collectible "Enid Collins" purses.

With their fun and whimsical designs and their witty names these popular 60's purses are super collectibles today, so why shouldn't our dolls want them, too.

We will be making purses for our 12" and smaller dolls. In this class we will be making 2 purses. The first is the classic wooden box purse and the second is called "barrel" purse.

I have been doing research on these painted and jeweled purses, mostly out of my mom's closet hehehe...she has a ton of them. I have accumulated a large bank of photos illustrating the quirky designs. I may toss in another folded purse like we did last year if we have time. Kit will include all you need to finish 2 purses 1/6th scale. As always bring to class a good pair of scissors, but not your best.

MEET VOLKS USA (Tentative) ($10)

Since they didn't meet the deadline with their confirmation that they will be participating with their seminar, they are tentative and I will let the group know if and when they send in their confirmation. Since you do not pay for Seminars till you get to them, it's safe to sign up for it without losing anything.

Thursday, July 8, 2010 - 4:30pm - 6:00pm

TRADE SECRETS!!! ($20)

Hello Fashion doll lovers. Please join award winning Diorama Artist Jakki Peters for a "pick her brain" class. She will show you some of her 1:6 scale furniture pieces and explain to you how you can make them on your own. You may also ask her for tips on any topics from her famed staircases to her working light fixtures etc. etc.

Having a problem figuring out how to do something? Jakki is likely to know the answer, but if not maybe someone else in the class will know! We will brainstorm together. Please bring a doll SECRET of your own to TRADE! Do you have a tip on hair, fashions, painting, re-rooting, accessories, sewing, printing, where to buy, etc. that you will share with the class? Have fun getting to know the convention attendees by sharing some doll tips and trade secrets. Are you a beginning collector without a clue? You may still come to learn from all the others attending who are willing to TRADE SECRETS. Who knows what we may learn...

You can also bring a doll (1/6 scale) if you want to photograph him or her in the diorama we'll have set up for practice.

Just like last year, if you were part of the Re-ment Addicts Support Group, you'll also get a CD-ROM with a copy of the presentation, photo tips, and some new printables you can make yourself. Hope to see you there!
